What You Will See on the Tuesday Gospel Mass Tour
The route starts at Bryant Park with its famous New York Public Library and continues inside the impressive Grand Central Terminal, a filming location for movies such as Men in Black and Madagascar. From there, you walk along the elegant Fifth Avenue, admiring the Chrysler Building, Rockefeller Center, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral, before concluding with admission to a typical gospel service in the heart of Midtown. If you would first like to understand how gospel in New York works, the schedules, and which churches to choose, read our guide on where to attend a gospel service in New York.
The gospel service is a real religious ceremony, featuring the engaging singing of the worshippers rather than a professional choir: this is what makes it an authentic experience. It is an experience that our founder Piero Armenti has been sharing with Italian travelers for years, the same direct knowledge of the city that you will find in the programs curated by our New York guide in Italian.
Tuesday or Sunday Gospel Tour: Which One Should You Choose?
This tour takes place on foot on Tuesdays, and the gospel service is held in Midtown, right in the city center: it is the most convenient choice if you are staying in Manhattan or if you are not in the city on Sunday. If instead you want the most immersive experience in the iconic neighborhood of gospel, the Sunday morning Harlem Gospel Tour takes you by coach bus through the churches and streets of Harlem. Two different ways to experience the same unforgettable moment.
