Prices start at $99 and vary with three factors: the stage of the tournament, the court and the time of day. Weekday early rounds are the most affordable window, while night sessions at Arthur Ashe Stadium and the second weekend see the highest demand and sell out first.
Each day is split into two separate sessions, and this is what surprises most international visitors: each one needs its own ticket. A day ticket does not let you stay for the night session. The table below shows how they are organised.

What to See with US Open Tickets
The day begins along the access avenue crossing Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, among arriving crowds, giant screens showing live matches and the smells from the food stands. With your ticket you move freely between the outer courts, where the cheering is immediate and players are just a few metres away.
The main court is Arthur Ashe Stadium, the largest tennis stadium in the world by capacity, with over 23,000 seats and a retractable roof that keeps play going in the rain. The other two show courts are Louis Armstrong Stadium, seating around 14,000 and also covered, and the Grandstand, which regulars consider the best atmosphere on the grounds.

Which Ticket to Choose
It depends on what you are after, and the answer is not always the main court.
- For maximum tennis: a day session in the early rounds, when twenty courts are in play from 11:00 AM until evening.
- For the big-event atmosphere: the night session at Arthur Ashe, with a full stadium under the lights. It is the priciest and the first to sell out.
- To be close to the players: outer courts, with unreserved seating and the action a few metres from the net.
- With children: a day session, shorter to manage and warmer than September evenings.
One thing we always tell travellers who ask: from the highest rows at Arthur Ashe the players look very far away. On a tighter budget, a seat on the outer courts beats a high seat on the main court. Book your tickets now and pick your session while availability lasts.
What to Know Before Booking
- Two separate sessions: a day ticket does not cover the night session.
- Order of play: court assignments are published the previous evening.
- Getting there: Mets-Willets Point on line 7, twenty to thirty minutes from Midtown. Allow an hour from hotel to seat.
- Driving not advised: parking is limited, expensive and often full on peak days.
- Entry rules: bags have strict size limits and large luggage is not allowed inside.
- No refunds: once the purchase is complete the ticket cannot be changed or refunded, unless the event is definitively cancelled.
- If play is postponed: the ticket stays valid for the new date or venue set by the organisers.
- E-ticket: it arrives by email, so check your spam folder too.
- What to bring: a hat and sunscreen for the uncovered stands, a light sweater for September evenings.
- Tourist passes: sporting events are not covered by the CityPASS or the New York Pass.

The schedule and daily order of play are set by the tournament organisation and may change due to weather or broadcasting requirements. The retractable roof at Arthur Ashe allows play to continue on the main court in the rain, while matches on uncovered courts are suspended and rescheduled: rain therefore does not entitle you to a refund. Always check the official tournament announcement before heading to the venue.
